I have been hearing about the March of Dimes since I was a little girl. Back in the days before social media, I would see ads on tv or hear them on the radio, or see fundraisers in the community. It wasn't until recently that I learned about what they do.
For those of you are unfamiliar, they run a plethora of programs for a wide spectrum of people with physical disabilities. Everything from helping people that require services or rehabilitation as a result of a neurological disorder such as MS, to brain injury suffers to adults and children born with physical disabilities. The programs they offer are too extensive to list here. What I will say, is that my life IS touched by individuals (and families of individuals) who have suffered brain injury, debilitating autoimmune disorders and strokes that have resulted in not only physical disabilities, but it has ended careers and resulted in mind-blowing life alterations to prepare and cope.
Accolades to the March of Dimes for their good work, and when they approached me for support of some gifts for their guests, I enthusiastically agreed to collaborate with them. I look forward to attending this event, and enjoying the festivities associated with their efforts to raise $40,000 on April 2nd.
For those of you who are interested in attending, the March of Dimes Canada's fourth annual Calgary OpportuniTea High Tea will take place at The Westin Calgary, 320 4th Avenue SW, Calgary, on April 2, 2017.
